Parent Code of Conduct
PARENTS MUST:
- Register all players on time and sign the Parents Code of Conduct
- Ensure players are present and on time to practices/games - ice time is valuable!
- Remember and appreciate that our program depends on volunteers at all levels. All parents must volunteer for a variety of team responsibilities. These may include but are not limited to concession work, taking tickets, running the clock, iPad/book, penalty box and locker room monitor.
- Promptly report any unlawful behavior by the players to the coach.
- Remember that youth are involved in organized sports for their enjoyment, not yours.
- Encourage players to bid by the rules of the game.
- Teach children that an honest effort is as important as winning.
- Try to turn defeat into victory by helping your child work towards skill development and sportsmanship.
- Recognize the value and importance of our volunteer coaches.
- Contribute to the cost of non-parent coaches' rooms on overnight trips.
- If your child has the last practice at night, someone must be there to pick up the child no later than 1 1/4 hours after practice starts.
- Ensure all jerseys and WYH equipment is turned in at the end of the season.
PARENTS MUST NOT:
- Confront a coach during a game or publicly after the game.
- Publicly question a game official's judgement or honesty.
- Ridicule or criticize a player on either team.
- Condone physical or verbal abuse of players.
